Keep the date and the context together.
A photo with no date is difficult to place. A number with no explanation gives you only part of the picture. The Progress tab in the current Alurefit build groups dated photo check-ins and bodyweight entries so a coach and client can refer to the same record.
Clients can use the camera or choose an existing photo. The photo workflow supports front, side and back views, a full-screen viewer and comparisons between check-ins. Bodyweight entries also feed a trend chart.
These are development-build features. Alurefit is not publicly released yet; join the early-access list to hear when you can try the iOS app.
Agree on the check-in before collecting it.
Decide which information serves the client’s goal. A strength-focused review might centre on completed sessions, loads and confidence with the programme. Another client may choose to include bodyweight or photos. A useful process does not require every client to track every metric.
- Agree on a check-in day and a response window.
- Choose the measures you both expect to review.
- If using photos, agree on consistent framing, lighting and camera position.
- Explain who can see the record and how it will be used.
- Ask for a short note about anything that made the week unusual.
Get permission for progress photos and treat permission to use them in marketing as a separate conversation. A client record is not automatically a testimonial.
A review should end with a next step.
Read the client’s account of the week alongside their entries. Look at completed work, practical barriers and the next week’s schedule before deciding what to change. Avoid letting one data point speak for the entire coaching relationship.
A simple review note
Observed: two of the three planned sessions completed.
Context: the client’s late shift moved to their usual training day.
Agreed action: move that session to a day they can protect, then review the new schedule next week.
Illustrative coaching workflow, not a claim about a real client.
The free check-in template includes a coach response section for recording exactly that decision.
Connect the review to the plan.
The point of tracking is to help the next coaching decision. In Alurefit’s design, the client record connects progress with the assigned workout programme, nutrition plan and coaching conversation.
For your first week with a new client, use the onboarding checklist to agree on the starting point and the review process together.
A few useful answers.
Does Alurefit support progress photos?
The current iOS development build supports camera and photo-library check-ins, dated views, a full-screen viewer and photo comparisons.
Do all clients have to submit bodyweight and photos?
Agree on the information that is relevant and appropriate for each client. The coaching process should explain what is requested and why.
